Conditions and Treatment

Ankylosing spondylosis
Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory disease that, over time, can cause some of the small bones in your spine (vertebrae) to fuse. This fusing makes the spine less flexible and can result in a hunched-forward posture.
Early signs and symptoms of ankylosing spondylitis might include pain and stiffness in your lower back and hips,
especially in the morning and after periods of inactivity. Neck pain, stiffness and fatigue also are common

Our approach
We aim to treat with gentle mobilization, specific stretching, general low-load strengthening exercises and breathing exercises to be able to alleviate pain, increase spinal mobility and functional capacity. Correcting spinal postural alignment helps to reduce the deformities.

Khyphosis
Kyphosis is an exaggerated, forward rounding of the back. Age-related kyphosis is often due to weakness in the spinal bones that causes them to compress or crack. Other types of kyphosis can appear in infants or teens due to malformation of the spine or wedging of the spinal bones over time. Increased kyphosis may lead to difficulty in breathing, limited physical function, lead to secondary pain to other parts like neck and shoulder.

Our approach
We concentrate on the postural correction, strengthening exercises that help align the spine and mobilization to increase joint movement.

Thoracic slip disc
Symptomatic thoracic discogenic pain syndrome (TDPS) is a rare phenomenon making it challenging to diagnose.
Patients with thoracic disc herniation may either present with pain spreading to side and front of chest, arm, and or in the legs depending on if the herniated disc compresses the nerve roots or the spinal cord itself.

Our approach
We plan treatment in form of joint mobilization, muscle activation and strengthening  exercises after evaluating the level of stiffness and muscle weakness. We also correct postural changes, which might be contributing to the mal-alignment of the spinal bones. Hot fermentation can be helpful to promote circulation and healing

Broken rib
Thoracic outlet syndrome is a group of disorders that occur when blood vessels or nerves in the space between your collar bone and your first rib (thoracic outlet) are compressed. This can cause pain in your shoulders and neck and numbness in your fingers.

Our approach
In the initial stage we deal with patients symptoms with taping, correcting sleeping posture, gentle mobilization, soft tissue release and specific exercises.

Scoliosis Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty. The cause of most scoliosis is unknown. Person may present with uneven shoulder, one shoulder blade that appears more prominent than the other, uneven waist, one hip higher than the other. Pain and stiffness may be associated with compressive forces on one side compared to the other. Our approach Our task is to inform, advise and instruct. Work on stretching and strengthening exercises for specific muscles to correct or maintain the alignment. A brace is recommended to prevent the worsening of scoliosis.
