Conditions and Treatment
Cervicogenic headache
The pain caused by a cervicogenic/spinal headache begins in the neck and the back of the head and spreads towards the front of the head. People may confuse cervicogenic headaches with migraines and tension headaches.
Headaches may result from structural problems in the neck and are often due to problems with the upper neck spinal bones. You may have face pain, eye pain and neck pain along with the headaches.
Our approach
We use different maneuver like mobilization, muscle strengthening and gentle execises. Advice for postural correction helps to reduce stress on the spinal bones and thus reduce the pain.
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV)
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is one of the most common causes of vertigo — the sudden sensation that you’re spinning or that the inside of your head is turning around. It is caused by improper movement of tiny crystals in the canals of inner ear. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo causes brief episodes of mild to intense dizziness. It is usually triggered by specific changes in the position of your head like when you tip your head up or down, when you lie down, or when you turn over or sit up in bed.
Our approach
Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is treated with specific exercises like Brandt-Daroff Exercise that help to reorganize the crystals in the inner ear and hence stop the dizziness.
Temporomandibular joint dysfunction
The temporomandibular joint is the joint that connects your jaw to your skull. When this joint is injured or damaged, it can lead to a localized pain disorder called temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome. Causes of TMJ disorders include injury to the teeth or jaw, misalignment of the teeth or jaw, teeth grinding or clenching, poor posture, stress, arthritis, and gum chewing. Signs and symptoms of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) syndrome include jaw pain, clicking and popping, headaches, stiff or sore movements with or without locking of the jaw joint.
Our approach
We treat with joint mobilization along with stability and mobility exercises.
Icing and anti-inflammation drugs will help in accelerating healing process.
